Hurricane Alex, 6/30/10, South Texas

Tropical storm Alex is now a Category 1 hurricane.  I shot this video in my front yard around 2:00 pm today, just after a squall had passed through.  The rain is steadily coming down, the wind is still (which is unusual for the Valley any time, but especially during a rainstorm -- insert foreboding music here), and my back yard is already backing up with water.  At the time this video was taken, the eye of the hurricane was beginning to form, and was located approximately 115 miles south of Brownsville.  McAllen is about 70 miles up the Rio Grande River from Brownsville, and starting to experience the effects of the outer bands of rain.

This is my first video.  If you see anything that needs to be fixed, please let me know.

Thanks for looking!

One summer day…

I’ve been working and missing photographing.  After working in the house today, I saw the 4 o’clock’s that are blooming, and couldn’t resist the urge to take a quick shot.  Used some textures, and Pioneer Woman’s Lovely and Ethereal action, and Jessica Sprague paper frame.

Summer is all about blooming things, picking fruit and vegetables.  I can’t wait to go to my sister’s house for fresh vegetables and fresh fruit.

Enjoy the show this summer.

Happy Mother’s Day

I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me.  They have clung to me all my life.
